Leisure
In addition to our comprehensive selection of industrial water treatment solutions, we also specialise in manufacturing and supplying chemicals tailored for swimming pools, hot tubs, and spas. Proper maintenance of these leisure facilities is paramount to ensuring a clean, safe, and enjoyable experience for swimmers.
Swimming pools, hot tubs, and spas are susceptible to issues such as algae growth, cloudy water, pH imbalance, and corrosion, all of which can compromise the integrity of the system and pose risks to public health. Regular maintenance and treatment are essential to mitigate these concerns and uphold compliance with the relevant health codes and regulations.
By diligently maintaining your pools, hot tubs, and spas, you not only safeguard the well-being of users but also contribute to the longevity and efficiency of these recreational amenities.
As well as being able to offer ‘own labelling’ for all of these products as we do for the industrial chemicals, WTP supply the Pro-Swim range of leisure products.
Our Leisure Product Guide
Sanitisers
Water sanitisers are a group of chemicals that kills bacteria, algae, and other contaminants in your swimming pool, spa, and hot tub water. Sanitisers make the water safe for swimming and bathing. They also help to keep the water looking sparkling clear too.
Algaecides/Algicides
Algaecides/Algicides have active ingredients that can destroy and prevent algae growth in swimming pool water. Selecting the best one for your swimming pool depends on your swimming pool type, budget, and requirements
Water Maintenance
Swimming pools can be subject to several issues, especially cloudy water, and high phosphate levels, that tend to develop over time if left untreated. Water clarifiers and phosphate removers can help minimise the risk of algae growth and the demand for other pool chemicals whilst maintaining clear, clean, and safe swimming conditions.
Water Balance
Water balancing chemicals play a crucial role in ensuring swimming pool, spa and hot tub water is safe and healthy for users. They are used to help manage the properties in the water, such as pH and alkalinity, to ensure bather comfort and protect the lifespan of the swimming pool equipment

The pH of your pool or hot tub is influenced by the total alkalinity (TA) levels. Aim for the following readings:
• TA: 80 – 150 ppm
• pH: 7.2 – 7.5
To achieve the recommended pH, start by checking your TA with a test kit. Adjust the TA to within the recommended range using our Total Alkalinity Reducer or Total Alkalinity Increaser, depending on your test results. Once the TA is correct, stabilise the pH using our pH Plus or pH Minus.

A common cause of cloudy water is poor chemical balance or inadequate filtration. However, environmental debris and other factors can also affect water clarity. Firstly, check that your water readings are within the following ranges using a test kit:
• Free Chlorine (Cl): 1 – 3 ppm
• Total Alkalinity (TA): 80 – 150 ppm
• pH: 7.2 – 7.5
To clear your cloudy water, clean the filter to ensure it is working effectively, and treat the water with one of our flocculants or clarifiers. More info can be found on the Pro Swim website.

Phosphates can enter your pool from various sources, including your source water, fertilisers, organic debris, and other environmental contaminants. They are problematic because they provide a food source for algae, which promotes algae growth.
To manage phosphates in your pool, regular maintenance is essential. Remove any unwanted debris, use a phosphate test kit, ensure your filters are working effectively, and use a phosphate remover to lower phosphate levels.
